The Learning Centre offers Recognition of prior learning (RPL) for our accredited training products, including 10881NAT Course in Observing and Documenting the Mental State Examination.
RPL is one way for your existing skills, knowledge and industry experience to be recognised. Applying for RPL may save you having to complete the face-to-face/online training and associated eLearning modules.
The RPL assessment process is as rigorous as the course assessment, however, the evidence you need to provide will differ. After you submit your application, an assessor will discuss and determine the evidence you provided. If the assessor deems you have gaps in your skills or knowledge, they may recommend you complete the training.
The Statement of Attainment issued upon successful completion of the RPL process is the same statement for successful completion of the course. The cost for processing your RPL application is the same as the cost to register for the course, however, if after reviewing your RPL application, the assessor recommends you complete the course you will not have to pay to attend but you will have to register via our online enrolment process.
Please read the RPL kit which is available for download here before deciding whether to progress. This kit details how your skills will be assessed against the industry standard.
If you wish to apply for RPL please send an email to QCMHLTraining@health.qld.gov.au stating your interest in applying. A helpful staff member will be in touch with you soon after receiving your email about enrolling through our online portal.
