Is your training suitable for me? Can I access Learning Centre training?

Whilst Queensland Health mental health service professionals are our primary target audience, training is highly appropriate to others in the industry (professionals who work in mental health, alcohol and other drugs services). Fees apply for non-Queensland Health/Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) learners as indicated in each course descriptor.

Our training is accessible if you are a:

  • clinician, practitioner and worker from other Queensland Health services and you work with people experiencing a mental health condition
  • Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic
  • mental health or alcohol and other drugs clinician/practitioner from other Government services and departments
  • mental health or alcohol and other drugs clinician/practitioner of non-Government (private) services
  • lived experience workforce; Government and non-Government
  • student on placement in a Queensland Health service.

If you don’t fit into one of the above categories, it is highly likely that our training is outside your scope of practice.

If you’re still not sure, proceed to our login screen where new non-Queensland Health learners will be guided to a form that will automatically screen for suitability. Your responses will be collated and forwarded to the relevant delegate for review. Following consideration of your application you will receive a response and any relevant recommendations that apply.

When you are selecting training it is important to not rely on the course title alone as an indicator of content. It is crucial that the full course descriptor, including learning outcomes is read and understood. Many courses have clinical application that is outside the scope of practice for those without a clinical qualification.
