If you are not sure where to start and are looking for guidance on selecting training, we first recommend checking with your line manager/Team leader or service education lead to see if there are any local education plans or workplace training strategies that may provide relevant guidance.
We also recommend reading the detailed course descriptors (don’t just scan the course title), to help find content that may be of interest or relevant to your service needs. Expanded versions of course descriptors which may include anticipated learning outcomes can be found in our Course Catalogue.
Some courses are recommended or required to be completed in a sequential order, so please always follow the pre-requisite advice indicated.
If you’re new to mental health, we recommend attending courses as soon as practical when commencing practice. Experienced staff can periodically refresh by reattending workshops or recompleting eLearning approximately every 2-4 years to ensure currency of skills.
Some courses require advanced practice, and this is indicated in the course descriptor or alternatively pre-enrolment screening questions will check your eligibility.
If you are still not sure contact the Program Delivery Coordinator via qcmhl@health.qld.gov.au for more detailed guidance.
